Last week, in the ASUC

One of the folks absent last week (during campaigns/elections) was Jennifer Avelino. Let me remind folks of something Jennifer Avelino said last week while bitching about Jessica Wren:
She has not come to a senate meeting during the campaign season, and she probably won't.
Hmm...

In fact, only 10 senators were legally present, and only 13 were present. Those three couldn't be marked as legally present because they didn't have enough senators to suspend the rules (unconstitutionally) to do so, as normally occurs. In fact, the Senate didn't do much of anything, since they were too busy securing their jobs for next year to do their job this year.

Was that in the minutes? What else did she say???

sorry about the above comment; I'm a total gossip. I bet she's going to try to take the other half of my stipend away! How funny (and predictible since she's been nothing but offensive and insulting to me since my confirmation) would that be?!

I forgot to link. Not in the minutes, in a Facebook message bitching about Van.

I just read last week's Senate meeting minutes.

Nad Permaul raises what I feel is a good point about student unions being funded by student money at public universities, and this being a part of ASUC independence from the university.

However, the Lower Sproul area is more than just ASUC-controlled property, so that is why I still feel it is justified to ask the University to step forward to guarantee its share of money toward the redevelopment of Lower Sproul, before asking students to pay up, particularly in a context of skyrocketing student fees.

Jennifer has been sick for the past couple of months, she comes to almost every Senate meeting sick. Leave her alone. Jessica you probably deserve a cut.

Jennifer has also been campaign manager for how many of those weeks?

Jessica does not deserve a cut. If student groups weren't on the line, I'd argue she deserves a raise.

This is a moot point, though, since, you would be hard-pressed to find ANYONE to run elections had it not been for Jessica's agreement to do it this year.

I don't really care if she wants to miss a Senate meeting, or if she's sick. I do care if, while she's missing Senate meetings, she bitches about someone else missing Senate meetings.

Would like to note that Caro Jauregui was legally present, so props to her! Van Nguyen was present but not legally present. Taylor Allbright and the Student Action candidates were not present.
