I asked Oscar Mairena about John Moghtader's claim that he had "fuck heterosexuality" as a status message. Mariena says he wrote "end heterosexism" in relation to Prop 8.
I can confirm that his status (does it really even matter?) was "fuck heterosexism." I'd like to stay anonymous because, well, Oscar and I have to do business every week, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, John's op-ed should have mentioned that Oscar got in some hot water last semester when another Senator (Dhar) was speaking and he put up a status of "dumb bitch." He put it up when she began to speak and took it down when her announcement was over. I took the screenshot she emailed to the Senate and let her know what happened.
Oscar is a loose cannon. I cannot believe CalSERVE put him as the top of their ticket.

You can't really "confirm" anything if you're staying anonymous.
Even if the status was "fuck heterosexism," that's simply a more obscene version of his story, and John's becomes a lie. Heterosexism refers to a form of discrimination, and would deserve to be fucked under the CalSERVE mindset. It's dramatically different than saying "fuck the sexual orientation of the vast majority of the population."
