Grue

Stephanie Lam has resigned from the Judicial Council. That puts them 3 short, despite Oren Gabriel's vigorous attempts to fill the positions.

why? is she afraid of DQing SA and then being charged ina real court again? what happened

theyve been hearing cases pretty solid since the election

Maybe she was afraid of ending up like that transgendered hooker in Florida.

beetle sucked tonight.

has gabriel tried appointing new people?

Last week he had found two people

Well, with the utter failure to draft Beetle for Senate, would it be too audacious to suggest that we draft Beetle for J-Council?

That would be an interesting confirmation hearing.

Oooh, brilliant idea! Too bad it'll never happen.

But Oren Gabriel is supposed to be appointing undergrads though, right? Or can he appoint grads too, and it's just that there's a minimum but no maximum on the number of grad appointees to the Judicial Council?

The latter. I think that, technically, the GA can appoint undergrads, too.

The Grad President and the ASUC President can appoint undergrads and grads. The point is that they both have a say in the process.

Thanks for the info!

By the way, asking about this led me to read the MOU again. Did the Elections Council actually have a "Graduate Outreach Coordinator" as specified? It didn't seem to me like there was all that much outreach to graduate students.

Also, I noticed that the copy of the Constitution on the ASUC website is outdated, when I was trying to look for the Judicial Council appointment information.

Don't worry, nobody is following the parts of the MOU they don't want to follow.
