Announcements!
From Josh Daniels to Graduate Assembly delegates.
ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENTS
Graduate students (that's us!) are able to vote in the upcoming elections. That's what all the chalking and signs have been about. In addition to the candidates, there are a number of referenda on the ballot that affect all graduate students. Here are just a few of the issues they address:
*Student fees
*Money for graduate student groups
*A graduate student center in Lower Sproul
*What is the responsibility of students versus the campus administration?
*Environmental sustainability
There are many more. You can find out more information at http://ga.berkeley.edu or at http://election.asuc.org.
It is very important that we make the Graduate Student Voice heard on these issues.
Voting starts Wednesday, April 11! Remember, you can vote ONLINE 24 hours a day at http://election.asuc.org.
Please forward this to your departments, friends, classmates, etc. so we make sure the grad voice is heard. Hmmm... Well, you can't vote "ONLINE 24 hours a day" on Wednesday, April 11.
Also, a graduate student center in Lower Sproul is not really addressed. The fee increase doesn't include any language to that effect. This is one of those "trust us" types of statements, and a not-subtle attempt to get votes using ASUC authority.
