Jeff Manassero withdraws support
J Koo reports that Jeff Manassero is no longer a supporter of SB51, as it stands now, because he belives that the use of the ASUC Legal Defense Fund for this purpose is unconstitutional.
Taking funds from the Legal Defense Fund is unconstitutional. Period. Therefore, this bill as it stands, is not supported by my vote. It is likely that the bill will be amended. I imagine that the clause asking for better by-laws will remain. It's unclear as of yet whether Student Action will simply give up trying to get the money, will try to get it from a different source, or will try to convince Jeff to change his position.
