Waaa

Manuel Buenrostro has chosen not to participate in the Judicial Council hearing concerning the challenge to Executive Order #8. He doesn't want to give it "credibility." It is somewhat saddening, then, that it is not up to him to give the Judicial Council credibility, but rather up to the Constitution. This may avert the mass-murder of trees I plan on perpetrating in the next 24 hours, but it may not.

His latest diatribe is much better written than EO#7 was.

Funny thing though. He never mentions that. He says blah blah blah illegal constitutional action so I issued EO #8.

Hey, Manny, what about #7? Don't feel like mentioning that?

He has several points that aren't that bad, except that he just declares them true. He says X and Y and Z are things the Judicial Council did that are blatantly illegal. The problem is that they're at worst points of limited contention in the ASUC Bylaws and the Judicial Council interprets the bylaws. None of them are absolute truths like he seems to think they are. They're the sort of things we all expect the Judicial Council to consider.

I think there must be something seriously wrong with the ASUC's relationship with their attorney if his advice always consists of "Don't do your job, someone else in the ASUC already said they'd sue you if you did."
