Cat! Run!

While I was planning on sitting on this for a while until they get running, it looks like the cat is more or less out of the bag.

Alex Marlow has a blog. Yay! Marlow is connected with the Patriot somehow, and will be hosting one of their talk shows. Yeah, you heard right. I'll review it when it comes out.

Anyway, he has some interesting stuff posted, such as the absurdity of the term African-American as a generic replacement for "black." He also works at the Career Center, and has some stuff to say about the fee.

Now, the only question concerns the location of everyone else's blog. It's easy! Start one today!

You know, they don't call black people 'African-American' in Europe... I don't know what the hell they do call them, but it would be pretty silly to address them as 'African-Americans' in Europe. Maybe they call them "African-Europeans" in Europe, and we in America decided that it sounded really cool and needed to adopt it. It's got all sorts of extra syllables and unnecessary complexity, almost as if political correctness itself birthed the term.

Also... couldn't African American go both ways? As in... African from America, or American from Africa? It's not terribly specific. For that matter, does it not negate itself? If something is African American, does it not cease to exist as both African and American and become something uniquely foreign?

Hopefully I am contributing something at least remotely acceptable to this topic and post. Whether I am or not, everybody who reads this comment can have a nice night... or day, depending on. Actually, no; you can only have a nice night. Take it or leave it.

Beetle,

Thank you very much for the plug! That's a good way to get yourself linked.
