Darryl Stein's column on the incompetence and cronyism in Bush's picks comes timed nicely to match the announcement of a relatively incompetent and cronyish Supreme Court pick. Yet this one is supported by many Democrats. Go figure. Maybe they're not as opposed to incompetence and cronyism as they say.
Anyway, we'll see if he was right about costing Republican votes by pissing off the conservatives with a court pick. I say no.
Anyway, the "out-of-nowhere ambush" strategy for appointing Supreme Court nominees is fun to watch.
