I, doll.

Way to stick up for your people.

Notice how nobody in the background seems to be paying attention.

[American Idol chick LaToya London]'s appearance was meant to encourage students to value their academic pursuits, said Berkeley High Student Activities Director Ivery McKnight-Johnson, who organized the event.

If there's one person who can bring that message, it's somebody who did well on American Idol.

I posted before re your 'what's wrong with this photo' query. (I'm BHS Class of '74, remember?) The calibre of guests invited onto the BHS campus has really slipped since my time--we got to be 'inspired' by writer James Baldwin, and heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman (in his pre-burger grilling machine days). Foreman appeared at BHS about a year and a half before he lost the title to Muhammad Ali in the famous 'rope-a-dope' fight.
