Greedy Executives
OMG UNFAIR!
UC medical schools’ top executives are receiving $2.4 million in bonuses this year, with not one penny of that sum going toward students or university workers, outraging some UC workers.
Really? Is that unusual? It seems like it'd be a really shitty bonus if part of it went to students or university workers. "Hey, good job, here's your bonus! Oh, you don't actually get it, though, we have better things to do with the money. But still, rest assured, you did receive a bonus!"
Paul Worthman, negotiator for the union:
It is a terrible message to the public and the university community to show who is important and who isn’t.
And it looks like the message has been received. I don't see what's so terrible about it, though. Some people are more disposable than others, when it comes to running an institution. Pretending like that's not true would be silly. (insert Latin slogan about light here)
